Depart Canada
Late afternoon departure from Toronto to Venice.
October 7
Venice - Padua
Morning arrival in Venice. We are transferred to Padua where we visit Basilica of St. Anthony, his tomb and we celebrate Mass. Continue to our hotel in Venice for rest, dinner and overnight.
October 8
Venice
Full day in Venice. We relish the sights and sounds of this serene city including canal cruise by motor launch to St. Mark’s Square. We view the bridge of Sighs, Doge’s Palace and St. Mark’s Basilica. Afternoon Mass, some free time for shopping before our return to the hotel in Venice for dinner and overnight.
October 9
Florence
Today we travel to Florence, the cradle of Renaissance. Our guided tour of the city takes us to the church of Santa Croce, a visit to the basilica of Santa Maria del Fiore, Piazza Signora and Ponte Veccio. Mass, dinner and overnight.
October 10
Siena - Florence
After breakfast we travel to Siena. Our tour of the city includes to the old city, Piazza del Campo, Duomo and St. Catherine Basilica where we celebrate Mass. Afternoon return to Florence. Some free time for leisure and shopping. Dinner and overnight.
October 11
Assisi
Today we travel to Assisi, the city of St. Francis. We visit the upper and lower basilica and continue to the church of St. Mary of the Angels. Mass, dinner and overnight.
October 12
Lanziano - San Giovanni Rotond
This morning we depart to San Giovanni Rotondo. En route we stop in Lanziano, the site of Eucharistic Miracle. Dinner and overnight in San Giovanni Rotondo.
October 13
San Giovanni Rotondo
We start our day with Mass at the Church where Padre Pio said Mass most of his days, and then we visit His tomb and the museum. Afternoon we depart for Monte de San Angelo, the oldest shrine in Europe dedicated to the archangel Michael. Return to our hotel for dinner and overnight.
October 14
Rome
After breakfast we travel to Rome. En route we stop in Manoppello, where we visit Basilica del Volto Santo containing a sudarium – an image of Jesus face on a thin byssus vail. Upon arrival in Rome dinner and overnight.
October 15
Rome
This morning we attend the Audience with the Holy Father. Afternoon our tour of Rome takes us to the Basilica of St. Paul’s in Chains, the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, view the Coliseum, Forum Romanum and Trevi fountain. Mass in one of the churches in Rome. Dinner and overnight.
October 16
Rome
Today we visit the famous Vatican museum including the Sistine Chapel and the Basilica of St. Peter. Mass in one of the churches in Rome, some free time, dinner and overnight.
October 17
Return to Canada
After breakfast we leave for the airport for a flight to Toronto. Afternoon arrival.
