Departure from Canada
Late afternoon departure from Toronto to Rome.
April 28
Rome
Morning arrival in Rome. Upon arrival visits to the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore and St. John Lateran. Continue to our hotel for rest, dinner and overnight.
April 29
Rome
In the morning, we visit the Vatican Museum and St. Peter’s Basilica. Attend Jubilee event. Afternoon walking tour of Rome. We visit Trevi Fountain, Piazza del Popolo, Spanish Steps and Pantheon. On to Basilicas of St. Paul outside the Walls. Continue to our hotel for dinner and overnight.
April 30
San Giovanni Rotondo
Attend Jubilee event – St. Peter Basilica. Afternoon departure by motorcoach to San Giovanni Rotondo. Transfer to hotel for dinner and overnight.
May 1
San Giovanni Rotondo
Morning visits the Shrine of St. Padre Pio and celebrate Mass at his Tomb. In the afternoon travel along the beautiful Gargano Peninsula to the Grotto of St. Michael the Archangel. Return to San Giovanni for dinner and overnight
May 2
Assisi
After breakfast, we leave for Assisi. On the way we stop in Lanciano to visit the Sanctuary of the Miracle of the Eucharist. On to Loreto to visit the Holy House of Nazareth and the beautiful Madonna of Loreto. Continue to Assisi, the city of St. Francis, built of pink stone and prettily spread out on the slopes of Monte Subasio.
May 3
Siena
Morning visits the Basilica of St. Francis and St. Claire Convent. Afternoon departure by bus to Siena, birthplace of St. Catherine Virgin and Doctor of the Church, visit the old city, Piazza Del Campo, Duomo and the church of St. Catherine of Siena. On to Florence, transfer to hotel for dinner and overnight.
May 4
Florence
Morning sightseeing tour of Florence to see the Duomo, the Baptistery of St. John and the Church of Santa Croce with the Tombs of Michelangelo, Galileo and Machiavelli. Afternoon departure to Padua, medieval city of St. Anthony, visit the Basilica. Transfer to our hotel in Padua for dinner and overnight.
May 5
Venice
Full day in Venice. We relish the sights and sounds of this serene city including canal cruise by motor launch to St. Mark’s Square. We view the Bridge of Sighs, Doge’s Palace, and St. Mark’s Basilica. Mass, some free time for shopping before our return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
May 6
Milan
Morning departure to Milan. Our tour of the city includes one of the City’s oldest churches, the Basilica of Sant Ambrogio. We visit imposing 14th century Duomo (Cathedral) and Corso Vittorio Emanuelle II. Transfer to Hotel for dinner and overnight.
May 7
Return to Canada
After breakfast we are transferred to the airport for a flight to Toronto. Afternoon arrival
