Evening departure from Toronto to Vilnius via Frankfurt.
Day 2 – Sep 17, 2018
Afternoon arrival in Vilnius, the capital city of Lithuania. Transfer to hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 3 – Sep 18, 2018
Full day in beautiful Vilnius. We visit the Old Town, Gediminias Castle, classicist Cathedral, The Gates of Dawn, world famous and the most visited shrine in Vilnius, containing the painting of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Mercy, where we celebrate Mass. Continue to the Holy Trinity Church, dedicated to Divine Mercy and St. Faustina Kowalska, where the original image of the Divine Mercy Jesus is located. Dinner and overnight.
Day 4 – Sep 19, 2018
Today we travel to Bialystok in Poland. En route we stop in Sokolka Podlaska, a site of a Eucharistic miracle where we celebrate Mass. Continue to Bialystok for dinner and overnight.
Day 5 – Sep 20, 2018
This morning we visit some places related to Bl. Michał Sopoćko, the spiritual director of St. Faustina and first promoter of the Divine Mercy message. We celebrate Mass in Divine Mercy Sanctuary, where his remains are buried. Afternoon we depart to Warsaw, capital of Poland. Upon arrival some free time, dinner and overnight.
Day 6 – Sep 21, 2018
After morning Mass in St. Faustina church (subject to availability) embark on a sightseeing tour of Warsaw that includes St. Stanislas Kostka church, commemorating martyrdom of Bl. Jerzy Popieluszko, the Old Town, the Royal Palace and Barbican. Some free time for leisure before returning to hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 7 – Sep 22, 2018
This morning we travel to Gniezno, a cradle of Polish state. En route we stop in Plock, a place where the great prophetic mission of St. Faustina began and where we visit the Shrine of Divine Mercy. Continue to Lichen and visit the Basilica of Our Lady of Sorrows, Queen of Poland, one of the tallest and largest churches in the world, where we celebrate Mass. Dinner and overnight in Gniezno.
Day 8 – Sep 23, 2018
After morning Mass at ancient cathedral in Gniezno we depart to Wroclaw. En route we take a tour of Poznan, a major city in western Poland – we visit the old town, the Market Square and Ostrow Tumski island, a site of first Christian temple in Poland. Continue to Wroclaw for dinner and overnight.
Day 9 – Sep 24, 2018
After breakfast our tour of the city will take us to the gothic Cathedral, the Market Square, lined with elegant townhouses and featuring a modern fountain and gothic Old Town Hall with its large astronomical clock. Afternoon we travel to Trzebnica where we visit magnificent Cistercian monastery and sanctuary of St. Jadwiga and where we celebrate Mass. Continue to Salvatorian seminary in Bagno. Return to Wroclaw for dinner and overnight.
Day 10 – Sep 25, 2018
This morning we travel to Zakopane, Poland’s “winter capital”. En route we stop in Czestochowa – the site of Poland’s greatest shrine – Our Lady of Czestochowa, also known as the “Black Madonna”. We celebrate Mass and venerate the priceless and miraculous icon. Continue to Zakopane for dinner and overnight.
Day 11 – Sep 26, 2018
Zakopane is a lively resort and the best-known mountainous town located in a valley surrounded by the impressive Tatra mountains and the tiny hillside village. Our tour of the resort includes walk along famous Krupowki Street and old part of the town with wooden houses in Zakopane’s architecture style, funicular train ride to Gubalowka Hill to admire the panorama of Tatras, visit Wooden Church and Old Cemetery. Afternoon time for shopping at local flea market, Mass, dinner and overnight.
Day 12 – Sep 27, 2018
This morning we depart for Krakow. En route we embark on a raft ridedown a mountain river on a wooden boat through breathtaking Dunajec River Gorge and Pieniny Mountains. Continue to Wieliczka where we visit the world-famous salt mines. Dinner and overnight in Krakow.
Day 13 – Sep 28, 2018
This morning we visit the Market Square where we hear the silver trumpet of the bugler form the tower of St. Mary’s Church. Buildings around the square and in the Old Town include marvels such as the Town Hall Tower, the Cloth Hall and most of all the Wawel Royal Castle and the cathedral. We visit Lagiewniki – world known as “Divine Mercy Shrine”. This is where St. Faustina had had numerous visions of Christ, who told her to keep a diary of their encounters, during which he spoke to her of the Divine Mercy. We celebrate Mass at the sanctuary and visit the convent of St. Faustina, her tomb and relics. Dinner and overnight.
Day 14 – Sep 29, 2018
After breakfast we are transferred to the airport in Krakow for a flight to Ottawa via Frankfurt. Afternoon arrival.
